International Yoga Day isn’t just a date on the calendar — it’s an invitation. A chance to pause, breathe, and return to the simple truth that your wellbeing matters.


At Sensate Spa & Studios, that’s the heart of everything we do. Yoga here isn’t about striving or performing. It’s about feeling. It’s about tuning in. It’s about giving yourself permission to arrive exactly as you are and letting the practice meet you there.


A Little History, A Shared Intention


International Yoga Day was officially established by the United Nations in 2014, after India’s Prime Minister proposed the idea of a global day dedicated to yoga.


What’s remarkable is how quickly the world embraced it, the resolution was supported by 177 nations, one of the highest levels of support the UN has ever seen for a cultural initiative.


The date, 21st June, was chosen because it’s the summer solstice: the longest day of the year, a moment traditionally associated with light, renewal, and reflection. It’s a natural pause point — a reminder to reconnect with ourselves and the world around us.


Since the first celebration in 2015, millions of people across the globe have come together each year to honour yoga not just as a physical practice, but as a way of cultivating balance, clarity, and compassion in everyday life.
